Grüter + Gut road legal quad
Swiss company Grüter and Gut's new road legal GG Quad bike is making a debut appearance at this year's INTERMOT. Powered by BMW's Boxer engine, it is capable of unquad-Iike speeds of up to 160kmph.
The frame is GG's own design/construction and the quad has alloy wheels mounted on diagonal carriers with adjustable hydraulic shocks at the front and rear. The front tyres are 195/40-16 and the rears have a wider footprint of 225/40-16. Stopping power is assured with a hydraulic system that incorporates 270mm floating discs with four pot calipers at each wheel.
Styling is aggressive with the lights set into the front fairing to give it a purposeful stance. The fairing is also said to be effective in providing comfort for both rider and pillion over long distances.
The GG Quad cannot be compared to any other vehicle. Walter Grüter comments: "The design had to be as unique as the concept."
Production of the GG Quad is planned for spring 2003 and it is expected to carry a retail price tag of Euro 25,000.
